“Truth’s too Important to Ignore”

Recently I was interviewed and asked this question: “Given that WV has a Republican super-majority, why was there so much gridlock in this past Legislative session?” My answer came without hesitation. I said, “Two reasons mainly - Lobbyists and Republicans who aren’t true conservatives”. Allow me to elaborate.

West Virginia is a largely rural state, and given the historical Christian values in WV, and the wicked platform that the Democratic Party is promoting these days, a Democrat simply is not getting elected in rural WV.

But make no mistake: Democratic ideals are most certainly on the ballot every year, and in most every race - they just have an ‘R’ beside their name.

Let me give you one example that illustrates this point: Senate Bill 173 was introduced to prohibit the importing of abortifacients into our state. In WV it is illegal to sell the abortion pill, but legal to get it mail order from another state. This law would have closed that loophole and criminalized it. The end result of this bill was that it passed the Senate, but died in committee in the House.

What was the reason? Was it the liberals masquerading as Republicans pushing their ideals when no one was watching? Was it the pharmaceutical lobbyists I saw hanging around the capital applying pressure as to not hinder their sales?

Your guess is as good as mine. It died a quiet death in committee without anyone making a fuss about it. Most of you have no idea about this - and that’s just the way they want it. In the dark.

The only way that we’re going to conserve our Faith, the Family unit, and our way of life is if we elect officials who who are not afraid of speaking the unpopular truths that we hold dear. Those who are principled so as not to be bought by the lobbyists. Those whose god is not money or fame, but Jesus Christ our LORD.

If you will allow me to represent you, this is the manner in which I pledge to conduct myself. I’m asking for your vote on May 12th. God bless.
