What’s the Difference?

During this election cycle you're going to hear a lot of the same talking points that have proven to get a Republican elected: "pro-life, pro-second amendment, jobs creation, affordability, lower taxes, economic development, etc." In other words, promoting prosperity and the preservation of our way of life.  These are things I hope we’re all for - I certainly am.  But it’s here where I believe my perspective on these issues stands apart from the others…

You see, I believe that we achieve all these things and more when we first honor the God of the Bible.  These good things mentioned are the natural byproduct of a Christian society - recognized as rights and blessings from our Creator, and evidenced by America’s first 180 years as a nation.  Unless we understand that, we are in essence hitching our wagon to a lame mule… we just can’t expect to get very far - as also evidenced by the continual decline in morality and increase in debt by our nation over the last 70 years.

As a pastor, my Christianity is not simply a slogan or lapel pin, it is the basis for who I am and the decisions I make.  If elected, I pledge to you my allegiance unto God first, that our district, our state and our nation might experience the blessings and prosperity we once knew.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33, KJV)
